Hey guys! This quarantine killed my sewing mojo for a little while, not going to lie. However, I decided to get back into the swing of things. I sewed my first project since our lockdown. I started with this McCall’s newbie from the spring collection and by the looks of this pattern envelope, I knew it was a MUST-HAVE! So let’s get into the review!
Pattern Description:
Front opening, semi-fitted top has back button collar and opening, midriff sash ties in front or back. C: gathered collar, cuffs & midriff.
Pattern Sizing:
6-14 I cut the 8
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Absolutely!! Down to every detail.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Pretty straight forward. I did have some hiccups, with the collar and sleeve cuffs. It was an easy fix though.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
What I loved the most about this pattern was the tie detail. Gives it a nice feminine touch. Disliked NOTHING!
Fabric Used:
poly silk from hobby lobby
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
No alterations or design changes needed. I’m actually glad I cut the size 8, I believe if I went with the 6, it would’ve been too small. I wanted to make sure it fit around my breast nicely.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Definitely! I already have fabric in my stash for this pattern.
Conclusion:
Overall, I loved this pattern. Took me about 3 hours to sew it because of the detailing, but it was totally worth it. Just the right amount of cleavage and a sexy open back!
